Federalist Paper # 10

Questions:
  1. What is the primary object of government?
  2. How could we cure the "mischiefs of faction,"?
  3. What is your solution for controlling the effects of factions?
  4. How does a republic inhibit the effects of factions?
  5. What is the most common and durable source of faction?
 Quotes:

"Among the numerous advantages promised by a well-constructed Union, none deserves to be more accurately developed than its tendency to break and control the violence of faction."- I chose this quote because factions are very bad in the development of our society

"As long as the reason of man continues fallible, and he is at liberty to exercise it, different opinions will be formed. As long as the connection subsists between his reason and his self-love, his opinions and his passions will have a reciprocal influence on each other."- This quote explains how a person's opinion can get in the way of the bettering of the community.

"Enlightened statesmen will not always be at the helm."- I chose this quote because it shows how the government isn't the just ruled by the upper class, but by normal people too.

"No man is allowed to be a judge in his own cause, because his interest would certainly bias his judgment, and, not improbably, corrupt his integrity."- I chose this quote because it shows how a person can't be the judge of his own actions because he will always side with himself.

"Every shilling which they overburden the inferior number is a shilling saved to their own pockets."- I chose this quote because it shows how the government can be corrupt when it comes to taxing.

"The diversity in the faculties of men from which the rights of property originate, is not less an insuperable obstacle to a uniformity of interests. The protection of these faculties is the first object of government." - I chose this quote because it tells how the protection of property is the most important thing the government has to do.
